The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill is a planned trilogy of biographies. Two have already been published, on Winston Churchill, by author and historian William Manchester. The last volume is being completed by Paul Reid.

Visions of Glory, 1874–1932

This volume was published by Little, Brown and Company in 1983.

Alone, 1932–1940

This volume was published by Little, Brown and Company in 1988. In 2011, the book was placed on Time Magazine's top 100 non-fiction books written in English since 1923.

Defender of the Realm, 1940–1965

This is the planned final volume of William Manchester's trilogy about the life of Winston Churchill. It is currently being completed at the request of the late Manchester by Paul Reid, a former feature writer for Cox Newspapers. Manchester died at the age of 82 on June 1, 2004, after suffering for several years from a stroke. Before he died, he chose Reid to complete the work.[2]

The third volume will focus on Churchill's years as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during the Second World War.
